Daily Workshops have been thoughtfully woven into real-world shooting experiences on the train to one of the richest natural environments in the world. Suitable for both Beginner and Novice Photographers, you won't need a fancy digital camera, a newer iPhone or Analog is adequate, though if you have bigger, better photography gear you are encouraged to bring it and use it.
This all-inclusive retreat covers your travel, accommodation, and beautifully curated meals with Private Chef Meredith Skimson, allowing you to focus (pun intended) fully on your creativity. Between workshops and photography, you’ll be nourished by Meredith’s exceptional cuisine and supported by Birgit’s intuitive, experience-rich guidance and professionalism.
Surrounded by vibrant fall colours and raw coastal beauty, you'll be staying in one of the Cassiar Cannery Guest Houses. Rich in history and photographic relevance, this retreat is more than a workshop—you'll feel ripened and ready for your own artistic awakening.

About Birgit
Birgit's professional journey began in 1994 as a Staff Photographer with the CNC Free Press at the College of New Caledonia, Prince George, BC.
In 2005, Birgit was officially "In Business" quickly setting the industry standard in Prince George for Digital Professional Photographers, competitively commanding her place in the market photographing weddings, families and sports events.
But she didn't start cultivating her gifts as an adult.
From an early age, Birgit already showed a deep, enduring passion for exploring the world through a lens. At just 8 years old, Birgit received her first camera for Christmas; it was 1983.
Since then, Birgit has been privileged to experience a remarkable industry metamorphosis that could never have been predicted. From film to phones, photography has taken a wild ride in the last quarter century.
While enjoying this wild industry ride, Birgit has grown a beautiful family and developed a sophisticated professional eye, a sensitive presence and impressive artistic depth to add to her well cultivated passion and unending love for photography.
